Congratulations Associate Professor Ailar Hajimohammadi

CIES warmly congratulates and celebrates Dr Ailar Hajimohammadi on her well-deserved promotion to Associate Professor.

In making the announcement, Head of School PSM Professor Nasser Khalili noted that Ailar’s wonderful achievement; was ‘an acknowledgement and recognition of her significant contribution to research, teaching and service to the School, Faculty and profession.’

Dr Ailar Hajimohammadi received her Ph.D. on sustainable cementitious materials from the University of Melbourne in 2011. She worked in the international technology company AspenTech for four years (2011-2015) where she gained experience in industry consultation and training. She then did three years of postdoctoral research at the Infrastructure Engineering Department, University of Melbourne (2015-2018) before joining the Centre for infrastructure, Engineering & Safety (CIES) at the School of Civil & Environmental Engineering at UNSW.

Ailar’s research examines the chemistry of materials to develop innovative construction elements with attractive properties. She is also involved in several industry projects investigating waste management and resource recovering strategies towards circular economy in civil and construction projects.
